we're hoping to close on our very first home at the end of this month!!
woo hoo!!!!
ok. now to the question:
i've never really had my own place that i could completely say was mine. i've never really had to decorate anything.
where do you guys get decorating inspiration from??
i don't have a clue as to where to start.
any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: decorating inspiration
The Furnitureland South website has some really great room displays to get ideas from. I also look at the "View Rooms" on the Pottery Barn website.
Another good site is TheNest.com - some people on there have great bios with inspiration pics. I also go onto the HGTV site and view the designer galleries. Have fun!

Re: decorating inspiration
I buy/subscribe to a bunch of magazines. I cut out the stuff I like, and put it into a binder (just like the old wedding days ).

I get ideas from what girls post on here and then talking with the various paint stores/hardware stores to get other information.

Re: decorating inspiration
I find it hard to be inspired by staged rooms. I know my style, and will just buy things that I like, and make it work. I figure, if I'm surrounded by things I like, I have created my own space- and that's more important to me. This most likely comes from my bargain shopping addiction.
But if I find a mid century danish modern dresser or a brightly colored pillow or a beachy table, I buy it and find a place for it.

I love her too - let us know how the book is!
I look through catalogues and magazines for inspiration. I love Dwell (I'm on a huge modern kick - but I love mixing it with organic materials - antiques/woods).
