DEcreased fetal movement

I am 24 weeks and for the last 2 or 3 days I realy haven't been feeling the baby move much. Should I be concerned? I really don't want to call the dr if I don't need to!

Re: DEcreased fetal movement

most docs will tell you 10 movements per hour... lay on your left side and count them for a bit. if you are still worried you can go to the hospital and they will check you out. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I'll be 24 weeks Wednesday and I definitely don't feel 10 movements per hour.

I don't think "decreased" movement should cause concern.

Sometimes you are just caught up in your own thing you don't realize the baby is moving.

If you are nervous, eat something sweet and lay on the left side. You should feel something to ease your mind. Chat Icon

Drink a cold glass of OJ or Apple Juice lay on your left side and that should do the trick! Chat Icon

Re: DEcreased fetal movement

24 weeks is still pretty early to feel a lot of movement. Movement will probably come in spurts at this point. I would only be concerned if you don't feel the baby after you eat something or drink cold water.

Re: DEcreased fetal movement

DS hardly ever moved during the day...it was his nap time. But when it was time for me to go to sleep I would be up all night b/c he was wide awake, rolling around, kicking me in my ribs. Call your dr. if you are concerned but I am sure everything is ok!

Re: DEcreased fetal movement

I was told, drink a cup of Oj and then lay down and count the movements and if you dont feel 10 in an hour, then call the peds and let them know. They may just have you go in for sono or NST.

eta: just read your update.. Happy to hear all is okay!!Chat Icon
