DEEEEEEEEEEP People
Did you ever know someone who analyzed EVERY SINGLE WORD/GESTURE/SOUND that other people make?
Someone called me and explained that she is upset because she thinks I am mad at her.
I'm not. I told her I'm not. I asked her what I did to make her think I was upset.
She told me that she sat down at a table that I was at during a large BBQ/party we attended on the 23rd. When she sat down I got up within 30 seconds.
I told her that I never sit still for long. I had 2 little boys with me and it is likely that I went looking for them and that HONESTLY I don't even recall what she is talking about.
She said it was also because she said something to me about my son being on stage singing with the band and I made a 'weird noise'.
No effing CLUE what she is talking about. Seriously.
But 2 weeks later? Really? Two weeks later you call to ask if I am angry? If you didn't do anything - I am not mad at you. And if you did do something - I have probably already told you about it.
Does this ONLY happen to me? Maybe it makes me crazy because I am so plain and vanilla and dull... my feelings are very black and white for the most part.
Or are YOU indeed a kind of cryptic person - someone who needs to be interpreted to some extent?
ETA: I wanted to say I have nothing personally against 'deep people' - except that I think they make it harder for shallow folk like me to be taken at face value!

Re: DEEEEEEEEEEP People
Some people are like that...my sister is terrible with that. She will mull something over for days or weeks and then ask you about it. I just tell her she is being ridiculous now.

I'll have to check your profile to see if we are twins. Apparently I am not happy to look at because I am not smiling 24/7.

You know, this happens to me, too, but I think it's because I'm very inside my own head, and sometimes I don't even hear people speaking to me, and I think it must seem like I'm ignoring them. That, and like you, I have a daughter running around that I am very often preoccupied.

Re: DEEEEEEEEEEP People
i can sometimes be "deep".
let me set your mind at ease: it's her own insecurities. that's when i over-analyze, when i'm feeling the least sure of myself.

Put me in the oblivious category. Definitely hard to deal with deep thinkers too. Everything doesn't have to mean something.
I had a roommate that was like that. A guy would say "Hi!" to her & she would spend hours analysing what he meant. Um, greeting? salutations? Stop following me, Stalker?

Re: DEEEEEEEEEEP People
My SIL- I hate getting emails with her name since I know its a complaint about me. One time I didn't call her back right away and the email was about how at dinner they discussed people who didn't call back right away and how it hurt. Another one was my fav when she told me I ruined her Christmas. Ummm... you were the one moping in the corner the whole time- I had NOTHING to do with it
