b/c her work was far from over.
honestly, Abraham Lincoln was felled after so much of his work was completed, or at least set in motion (same with MLK)
obviously having them all live on would have been for the better, but I just think that her message hadn't quite come to its fruition.
I guess you could say her assasins were successful where Lincoln's and MLK's failed...b/c while their visions pushed forward thanks to the movement being stronger,
Bhutto's is at a pivotal point...it can go either way.

because it would have been nice to see what Abraham Lincoln could have accomplished after the war. his work was NOT over. he had a different vision from most people at the time and i would have liked to know what he would have done to help heal the fractured country and what he would have planned for the newly freed slaves in the south.

I think that as a nation, his assassination marked the death of our innocence. It was something that had to be lost eventually, but I think that with what followed, especially with Nixon's impeachment - I feel like we've been unable to 'trust' our president's since JFK's death.
He had much work left to do.

Abe Lincoln's life was cut way too short. Sure, the civil war was over, and the government remained intact, but for the next decade following his death, no president could follow in his footsteps and thus put this nation into a recession, still divided. He was a man who could have helped bandage the wounded nation, he could have helped advance the flight of the freed slaves, he could have helped advance the US in the west sooner than when it happened, and overall, he would have made the govt more culpable to the citizens. He was a citizen's president. After him, visitors weren't allowed in the white house as freely as before. Abe had guests daily at the white house door stopping in to see the President, greeting the man that was trying to maintain the union.

The 9/11 attacks were murders, and IMO not considered assassinations b/c the definition of assassination is murder of a public figure by surprise attack.
