delayed vaccination schedules????

yes, this is the issue of my night....I swear being a mommy gets harder each day!!
Anyway, was wondering if anyone that is delaying shots would mind sharing their schedule or FM'ing it to me. Just curious what others are doing. I've read a great deal about this and am still not exactly sure how long we'll wait, curious what others are doing.....

Re: delayed vaccination schedules????

We only give him 2 shots per visit so we have ended up going once a month to the ped. HTH

Re: delayed vaccination schedules????

I originally was going to delay DS's vaccines until he was 6 months old being he is not in daycare, however being we have alot of strange diseases floating around lately I started his shots at 2 months as planned but he only gets 1 shot a visit (1 shot a month). I also waived the hep. shot at the hospital when he was born...I didnt feel the need to give that to him at that time. DS also has not gotten the flu shot and will not get the chickenpox shot until it is necessary for him to go to school. My ped. also does not give the rotovirus vaccine b/c he said their are too many health risks and it is not necessary.

This was something I discussed with my ped. when I met with him and told him this is how I planned on doing things and if he wouldn't do as I liked, I would find another dr. He said he has many parents that he has helped to create their own shot schedules. So far, knock on wood, I have had no problems and DS has had no side effects, his temp. has hardly even gone up after his shot. I think mostly b/c babies nervous systems are overloaded when they get 2, 3 sometimes 4 shots at once. some people have no idea what the shots are actually made of.

Here is the order DS has gotten his shots in (again only 1 shot a month which means extra ped. visits). At this point, he has gotten through the first cycle of most of his shots and is now completing the boosters.

Hib
DtaP (so far has had 2 of 5)
Polio (so far has had 2 of 4)
Hep B
Pneumococcal

Also, if DS is sick (he has had a cold and 2 ear infections) I will skip the shot that month until I am sure he is symptom free. If you have any questions, feel free to FM me!

ETA: I also plan on delaying the MMR vaccine until he is probably closer to 3 and that will be broken up as well.

Re: delayed vaccination schedules????

i delayed all the shots... well i didn't follow any schedule.. i didn't give any combination shots like the pediarix... MMR.. ect.. i split everything up and gave 1 - 2 shots per visit. my son just had his last shot at 2 years 3 months.. before the MMR.. so i guess he's about a year behind schedule.. he will not start the MMR for at least another year or two and then we will break that up.

same here (this was the schedule for my DS when he was 2-6 months). He's 7 months now and will get one more shot at his appt next week and then wont get anymore till hes around 1. and i will be delaying the MMR as well as splitting it up when hes older

The only reason I ever delayed a shot was because he had a cold or fever already. My pediatrician would not give DS a shot if he was a little under the weather. Regardless, he pretty much received his shots one to two months within the times they were scheduled. DS never had any reactions to shots so I didn't delay on purpose.

This is what I intend to do. I just trust the Dr's. I just may split the MMR but probably not. I will see what my ped. says.
