Delaying the MMR or splitting the doses
Did anyone do this? I delayed it for his 15 month visit and we go for his 18 month and I am thinking of delaying it again. I know I want to split the doses because my peditrician does offer the split doses.
I am so confused with all I have read!
Any insight?

I know we use the same pedi, and I got Andrew his MMR at his 18 month visit (and I was pregnant with #2) and we did not get the split doses. No problems what so ever. Dr. Castiglia showed us the container and it is not preserved in thimerisol, so we were ok with it.

I'm splitting it. I just feel better safe than sorry and there's no cons to splitting it up (other than 3 different shots) - He got the rubella @ 12mos, he'll get the measels @ 13 mos and the mumps @ 14.

I am definitely delaying probably until after she is 2. I am still undecided on splitting the doses but they do offer it in my office this way as well.

We delayed it until Lyndsey was 3. We'll do the same for Maya.
I heard that they combined the MMR and the varicella now...that bothers me, because I don't believe that kids should have to get the varicella (chicken pox shot).
