my Dh just ordered the inspirion 6000 with a few upgrades. There are discounts on the dell site. His is supposed to arrive today.

i don't know what he picked as upgrades- I think just memory & software. The whole thing came out to just under $1200 with the tax & shipping. he ordered it directly from dell

i have an offer (small business) for the Inspiron 6000...$799, comes with 60GB HD, and I can add on a 8xCD/DVD burner +/-RW
for just $79 more...is that good??
