Denim Sundress with no bra-spaghetti straps
Yes, the outfits are back.
Yesterday was the see through white eyelet spaghetti strap one.
She wears a sweater over it so she thinks we don't know.
Today the sweater is coming off..too hot.

Do you drink a lot at home? That's the only I could deal with this non-sense at work.

Re: Denim Sundress with no bra-spaghetti straps
I've been pretty quiet right?
Even DH asked me about her the other day and I said you just don't want to know.
I sum it up this way.
She has no autonomy She is immature She has poor judgement She has her boss snowed
Hoping in about a year my boss will move on and so will I.
The only thing I can hold onto is that I know I make a lot more money than she does.
She has definitely lowered the bar. It's her boss' fault. He actually told me he's seen worse.
Oh and lastly, the denim dress has a bow in the back and she likes to tie it really tight so she doesn't have to wear a bra. Guess who gets to re-adjust her bow every few hours so it stays tied tight.
Yep, I will add that to my resume.

Can't you just ignore her? Unless she is a direct report to you why do you care? If her boss doesnt say anything, it should bother you.

Her boss begged me to help her become all she can be. She asks me to tie her dress so it's tight enough. She told me it's too hot to wear a bra.
Nope, can't ignore her. She sits 2 feet from me. Literally. Her boss who reports to my boss and is very senior has asked me to play nice.
She comes in late every single day. She is supposed to be my back up.
He's complete jackazz and I have to kiss his azz too. He brings her food, tells her to leave early, calls her just to shoot the breeze, invites her to golf outings with the guys..
Yes, I know why she's here. It ain't for her work ethic.

I agree. Tell her to find someone else. Also document EVERYTHING - including those little invites to the outings. If you ever need to walk out of there, plan on doing it with a nice severance.

Re: Denim Sundress with no bra-spaghetti straps
I have everything documented.
I'm not getting fired. They know what they have there but but they just have too many other things going on to bother with her.
When she screws something up her boss laughs about it and tells her to do better.

Re: Denim Sundress with no bra-spaghetti straps
If I had to work with someone like this, I would definitely consider amping up my job search.
Especially because it sounds at this point that they have no intentions of getting rid of her which is a damn shame.

Re: Denim Sundress with no bra-spaghetti straps
I heard her on the phone today (as usual) talking to her boss who asked her to format and print a spreadsheet. She asked no less than 3 people to help her including me and I took her so far and then had to do my own work. I don't know what the outcome of that spreadsheet is but I'm not asking. She cannot do anything by herself.
She is here 17 months and hasn't done one expense report without asking me how to do something. Sometimes asking the same exact question over and over.
When that happened a few days ago I told her to use the tutorial and check the expense policy. It's all in there.
It's just too easy to ask for help and have someone else do it and take the credit.
Not doing it anymore. I will now let her fall. If she can't ask me she asks others. They will all get tired of it once I stop completely.
thanks for listening and letting me vent. I really think sometimes I will choke the crap out of her.

Re: Denim Sundress with no bra-spaghetti straps
OMG I am going through the same thing at work. Our receptionist is wearing a spaghetti strap sundress (something I would wear over a bathing suit) and flip flops. My office has a no open toe shoe policy! Her excuse today was she was running late and thought she had shoes in her car. Ugh! I swear this woman is just looking to get fired.

are your boobs hanging out?
She told me her boss thinks she's indispensible. She said it in front of him and he smiled.
um, yeah sister, you are there to look at.
Something she openly admits..
She's an HR nightmare.

I can only hope. She told me she was going to get pictures done and go on that show where that woman Patti matches people with millionaires.
Yeah honey you are not 20 anymore..
She is 42..she needs to grow up and marry someone already so she doesn't have to work. The last boyfriend told her she wouldn't have to work anymore eventually. Too bad they broke up.
Now she's buying a house and a bmw..she will be working here forever.
Maybe I need a new job.

I hope you realize that she will stay at her job if there is a choice between you and her. She obviously sleeps with someone high enough in ranks to keep her there and she is the UNTOUCHEABLE employee. As bad as she dresses, work ,etc... she will keep her job.
You lost all control over your work and authority the minute it was concidered acceptable for her to have all the attitude, lateness, lack of work.
I don't know why you stay. You lost the battle. Not only you are doing your job, but also hers. It does not matter what you do. Nobody sees what you are doing except being difficult for not helping her.
She has everyone wrapped around her finger. Good luck fighting that!
I would not even be surprised that she does not end up being your boss at some point.

I really could not agree more. (except that I wouldn't necessarily say she was sleeping with anyone). If they haven't fired her by now, they're not going to...and all those complaints that are "documented" and what not are just going to make you look like the disgruntled employee. If you really can't deal with working with her, then I'd say to look for another job, bc she's not going anywhere, and she's certainly not changing anytime soon.

Re: Denim Sundress with no bra-spaghetti straps
My boss..nah, that's never going to happen.
I don't have work authority over her. I am not her boss. She is supposed to be my back up but lacks the skills.
My boss does not go to her for help. She realizes she makes her COO happy and she is good to get coffee. She needs him around so she lets me deal with it. He is the real problem.
I don't look like the disgruntled employee because I stopped going to HR and complaining about her to her boss a year ago.
If she's here to stay, that's fine. The situation is not forever as things change in the org constantly. A year from now things will be different.
I just concentrate on doing my job well. Right now I'm backing her up while she is on vacation. I go on vacation in a week and someone else is backing me up because I chose to have someone with the right skills fill in for me.
That speaks volumes.
This happens in the admin world a lot. She has a terrible work ethic, takes 45 min smoke breaks, wears questionable clothing, comes in late, leaves early and lacks skills. She lives her life in a way that I couldn't. That's her issue and her boss' issue.
I will just continue to do the excellent job for my boss and the department that I always do.
I will vent here. The situation sounds fruitless so I shut up at work about it.
I know I won't work with her forever. Thank God!

Re: Denim Sundress with no bra-spaghetti straps
and she is not sleeping with anyone at work. She is her boss' project. He hired her and will fight tooth and nail to keep her.
He has lost 40% of his staff last year due to his management style.
One of the managers she supposedly assists goes to another admin for help regularly.
I have helped her tremendously. She can't do one thing without my help. So I help her because it's for the good of the dept. She is lazy but in the end her doing her job effectively impacts my boss in a way. I'm the good corporate citizen. She may be untouchable for now but once her boss is gone she will be too. There will be no protection.
eta: she knows why she is there. She actually said out loud one day that he keeps her around to look at her and that's why she is there.
