Dented cans= safe to eat from?
I just bought a tray of cat food from my vet, and realized when I got home that some of the cans are dented. When I opened the tray, a few of them were dented badly enough that they popped open, so I threw those out. Is it safe to give them food from the cans that are dented but not opened?

Dented is bad- I would not give it to them.
Sometimes the can was dropped but it can also mean the food is contaminated.

My mom always threw out dented cans. And Sarah's doctor told me not to give her formula if the can was dented, something about the coating on the inside of the can might be released into the food or something. I guess it's the same with pet food.

Yes, it could mean they were dropped, but it could also mean the food is contiminated. Sometimes a sign of botulism. It's better to be safe than sorry.
