dentist ??
My sister is 7 weeks pregnant and is suppose to get a cavity filled. Can she get novicane?

Of course, I wouldn't get a cavilty filled without novocaine. I had a lot of work done in my first pregnancy, so I've been through it all. Cleanings can be done at any time and any work my doc wanted done in the second trimester.
The only restritction I had was that the novocaine could not contain epinephrine. I specifically had to request this from my dentist and it was no problem.

I am a dental assistant. we do dental work on prego patients all of the time. you just cant have any novacaine with epi in it. one of the other girls said carbocaine - thats exactly right. thats one type of novacaine without epi - there are other names for it as well. Also, you cant have swet air (nitrous oxide). hope this helps. :)
