dentist leaves practice, no one tells you?
I go for my cleaning today. The hygienist, who i've known for so many years, tells me the dentist left the practice and there's no dentist to see you in the office today. She was fed up.
I was like UM WHAT? No notification by the office. She said when they tell people they cancel. Yeah no shit! I would've!
So i ask, soooooo who are they assigning his cases to??? she said nobody. So i ask, sooooo if i need to see the dentist who do i see? She says Dr. _____. I said is that the only dentist left? She said yes.
I said so how is she supposed to see all the cases from my dr? She said she didn't know, she's leaving too at the end of the year, she's over it and had it!
i'm like dumbfounded by the unprofessionalism of the practice. Apparently my original dentist who owned it sold it. I never knew this. He had retired due to illness. His name is still on the practice!
I asked where she's going; she gave me the name of the practice she's at part time now. I'll be transferring over.
Just a vent because i'm really like what the entire....f

aside from they wasted your time for the cleaning because there was no DMD for the exam, this is unprofessional

I would put in a complaint, that’s crazy. That’s like going to the doctor and getting your vitals checked and no doctor comes to assess. Who is filling the cavities? Is there no dentist there at all? Seems wild…

yup that was my thought. Unprofessional and what if i needed to see the dentist??

yes i'm considering it! Apparently there is one dentist left in this practice so i asked how is it possible for that one dentist to see all of the patients?

Very unprofessional & what's it to them if a patient cancels? It's understandable. The right thing to do is tell the patients.

yes, i'm waiting for my final bill then requesting my records, then going to make some calls to the state

just went on their website. completely not updated. has all the old dentists on there, including the former owner of the practice!
this is not some mom & pop dentist office. I'm talking midtown.
