Dermatology/sun related question
I recently developed these two "white bumps" on my face (VERY SMALL). They almost look like whiteheads (yuck!), but are hard and not "popable". Do you think they're from the sun? Any idea what they could be? I made an appt. with the dermatologist, but can't be seen until 6/11

They could be a fungus or a virus. Are you by any chance a teacher or are you around a lot of kids?

Re: Dermatology/sun related question
I get bumps all the time from the sun. If it's surrounded by a sunburn, the appear white, if I'm just reacting to the sun without a burn, they appear red. It could be something similar. If you want the name of the sunblock I use, let me know, I'll find it. It's SPF 60 and I have to have it imported from Canada because it blocks more rays than US sunblocks.
Definitely have your dermatologist check it out. Maybe your regular doctor could see you sooner and will know what it is. Good luck!

Are they under your eyes? Could be a fatty deposit. This woman I know gets them all of the time.

Re: Dermatology/sun related question
I get them occasionally. I just asked the derm about it last week!
Its a calcium deposit. Is there a lot of calcium in your diet? I had to change my vitamin regimen because I was ingesting too much calcium with normal food - the calcium in in the vitamin was putting me over the top. The body stores excess calcium in little pockets in the soft skin under your eye.
Depending on how close it is to your eye, the derm will choose to remove them or just let them go on their own. Ease up on the calcium in your diet and see if that makes a difference.
eta: in the past, most of mine have gone away on their own.
