Desperate: anyone here does Software Quality Assurance or knows anyone who does?

My husband desperately needs a job. He is currently working in... Texas. It's a long complicated story, but basically, he used to contract though that company and work from home in NY but last year they made him move to this horrible little town 3 hours away from Dallas where the company is based. He has been there for a year and is desperately trying to get back to NY. Neither one of us wants to move there, it's just not an option for us for many, many reasons.

He needs a job here in NY and has been looking for one for a while, but there is nothing. He is currently contracting for IBM and AT&T thought the TX company that employs him.

We have been living apart for over a year, he comes home ever month and stays for a week or so and just works from home here. I don't know how much longer we can take this life! I am currently unemployed as well so him just quitting is not an option!

Check out social service agencies. I often see listings for this kind of postion.

Try socialservice.com.

I would also suggest looking into home care agencies for QA but I think a lot of them require a nursing degree.

What industry does he work in? Our company has a QA department - not sure if they are hiring right now. It's in the food manufacturing industry so knowledge of HACCP, GMP, GFSI as it relates to food companies would be a plus but not necessary. We're in Suffolk. Send me FM if you think it might be a fit and I can find out if there are any openings.

Thank you so much to everyone who replied. I think I didn't explain what he does too well. He works as a SQA-Software Quality Assurance, which is part of IT. I corrected my original post.
