Desperately looking for a really good foundation brush!

I think a good liquid foundation brush make a all the difference in how natural foundation looks on your skin. I am looking for a short and fat brush, because I think those work the best, something that would kind fo buff it in. I have previosuly used one with my liquid foundation that I got a very long time ago in a gift with purchase from Estee Lauder but it complitely fell apart. Need a new one ASAP! Chat Icon

TIA!!Chat Icon

even though you have given me many a great reccomendation, I'm going to disagree with you on a short, fat brush. Chat Icon

I find palatte brushes (a form of a foundation brushes) to be the best, hands-down, for applying liquid foundation. Instead of a fat and short brush, it is thick, yet less bulbous.

It's almost like using a paint brush on your face, although it's wider. it allows for greater coverage.

I have a bamboo one from Eco Tools. It is the first brush in the set below. You can find the set in Target.

My foundation, when i use this brush, makes me look flawless.

I never even heard of this brand until your post and today I was near Ulta and decided to just walk in and there they were. They are having some kind of sale and the pickings were really slim but they had this set with the foundation brush so I bought it:
Brush Set
As you can see, it has a a long foundation brush and a short, fat brush as well! Chat Icon A little bit of everything! I tried the foundation brush and it is great! SO soft, excellent value for the money!

Thank you for your recommendation!!!Chat Icon

Question- it says for Mineral Foundations.
Do you use it with liquid?
I never thought to apply liquid with a brush...doesn't it get messy?

Yes, I always apply liquid foundation with a brush. Usually, I also mix it up with a moisturizer right on my skin and then blend it all in. It looks much more natural that way. Then you can finish up with a light dusting of powder!

I find using a brush to apply liquid foundation to result in an amazing finish.

I generally spritz my face lightly first with this concotion of rose water or something, then apply my foundation with the brush. It looks flawless.

However, when I don't use the brush, my skin looks just ehh.

I have tried a few different ones but I must say that the BEST brush for buffing in liquid foundation (in my opinion) is the Sigma F84 Angled Top Kabuki.

Foundation Airbrush #56

What it is:
A smaller brush designed to achieve a flawless, airbrushed look.

What it does:
For even greater control and precision, Sephora's cult favorite Platinum Foundation Airbrush now comes in a version with a smaller brush head. Create a flawless, airbrushed finish thanks to this brush's densely packed bristles and smaller head. Smoothly and easily, layer foundation from light to heavy. As you continue application, your results will be perfectly smooth at every level of coverage.

What else you need to know:
The bristles are made of synthetic, three-tone Taklon fibers. Non-porous and non-absorptive, they distribute just the right amount of pigment for a perfect result every time.

I just bought the Ecotools foundation brush on clearance in Duane reade for $3.50. It's awesome almost as god as my old Paula Dorf brush. I went back to Duane Reade and purchased the 6 piece Ecotools set for 5.50 love all the brushes. They got great reviews on amazon and Makeup alley

This is what I normally use with my liquid foundation and swear by.

Since reading this thread I actually did an experiment.Chat Icon I did 1/2 my face with this beauty blender and the other half with my foundation brush (similar to the one Shelley posted). The winner was definitely the foundation brush!! I was surprised but will definitely be using that from now on. It gave it a more smooth, airbrushed look. I will still use the beauty blender to apply my cream blush and to blend concealer.

I don't rinse it out every time. Just once a month or so. I should probably do it MUCH more often.Chat Icon In fact, starting now, I will! Chat Icon
