destination wedding to Vegas
So DH cousin is getting married in june there and my SIL's and I plan on going but dont want to break the bank. Looking on Expedia and they have some good deals, but i dont know what hotel to pick. Shes having the wedding at Ceasars palace and get 10%off any of there hotels. Still with the 10% Ceasars is still to much. So for you ladies that have been there, which are nicer hotels..... Ballys, Harrahs, Flamingo and Rio?
Thanks a bunch.

Re: Destation wedding to Vegas
I haven't been in about 6 years, but I have stayed at Ballys and Harrahs and would def stay at either one again, no complaints! Pretty basic, but centrally located on the strip. Bally's is connected to Paris and Harrah's has a few fun bars right inside. Rio is off the strip, so for that reason alone I probably would skip it. Have fun!

Re: destination wedding to Vegas
Like a PP said I wouldn't stay at Rio because it's off the strip. I don't know the others so well but Harrah's has a fairly good reputation. Sometimes there are great deals at Wynn or Encore, too.

Re: destination wedding to Vegas
The Mirage is typically less money than Caesar's and from what I remember, is right next to it. I've stayed there before and really liked it.
That being said, I always said that the next time I go to Vegas, I want to stay at Caesar's. I think it looks awesome.

destination wedding to Vegas
DH and I went a few years ago for a destination wedding and found a great deal on vegas.com for flight + hotel (it even came with show tickets).
We stayed at Excalibur since it was one of the more affordable hotels on the strip (we really wanted to be on the strip). The room was really nice and we had a good view of the strip. We also liked that it was less smokey (cigarettes) than the other hotels. We did not like that it was towards the South edge of the strip so getting to the main areas (ie: Caesar's) was a fairly long walk (at least a 1/2 hour, if i remember correctly). To me, it was worth it though and i'd def stay there again if i'm trying to stick to a budget.

Re: destination wedding to Vegas
DH stayed at Mirage when he went. It's centrally located and still a decent price. When I went, I stayed at the MGM. It's located towards the end of the strip but it was a great hotel and a short walk or cab ride to most anywhere on the strip.
ETA: I've heard a lot of good things about Harrah's, too.

Harrahs is a good hotel. It is very basic, nothing fancy but a great deal and the rooms are clean.
Also once you stay there you sign up for their rewards program and they will send you deals all the time (for all of their properites not just Vegas).
Also check out the Cosmopolitan. I haven't stayed there but was there for their grand opening two years ago and it is a beautiful property. Since then I receive offers from them all the time too.

Re: destination wedding to Vegas
Of the ones you mentioned, I'd stay at Harrah's or Bally's. Flamingo is old. Rio is way off the strip.

I wouldn't stay at the Rio - it's not on the strip.
Harrah's and Bally's are centrally located and a short walk across the street from Caesar's and are both affordable. Mirage is next door to Caesar's and also well-priced, as is Treasure Island.
Surprisingly enough, you can check out BroadwayBox.com and see deals for Vegas hotels on there and oftentimes it includes extras like dining and entertainment credit.

Definitely check out Luxor and Excalibur. I've stayed at both for a reasonable rate. The Excalubur right now is running a special through their Facebook page that ends July 31, 2013. Not sure how much the rate would be for when you go.
I've also stayed at the Rio (even though it's off the strip) for a reasonable rate.

Re: destination wedding to Vegas
we got married in vegas 12/31/11. We stayed at flamingo which is directly across the street from Cesar's.
We winded up staying for free for 5 nights because DH is a total rewards member.
Flamingo was great. i would definitely stay there again. the rooms were pretty new and renovated. I didn't think it looked old inside.

When we went we stayed at the Aria which was beautiful. We booked with an entertainment book discount. Of the hotels we visited that were lower budget we liked nyny.

Re: destination wedding to Vegas
Just stayed at the flamingo in July, well priced, had a renovated room that was very pink :) and their pool is great! Plus it's mid strip! I will most def be staying there next time! We used to stay at imperial place every year bc their rooms are dirt cheap! That hotel is old and run down. I really liked flamingo!

Re: destination wedding to Vegas
Thanks everyone for ur input. I think we are going to stay at ceasars there wasn't a big difference between all the hotel prices so for an extra $30 we can go there, and that's where the wedding and everyone else is basically staying. Thanks again!
