Dexter Season Premiere [SPOILERS]
What did everyone think? I was expecting something better. He was just walking through the episode, supposedly shocked, but basically looking dumb. And Deb... MUST she sleep with every guy who shows her even a little bit of kindness? 
Also, the flashbacks to his first date with Rita doesn't jive with me. In the beginning of the show, he said the only reason why he was with her was to provide cover and because she didn't want anything from him. Then he looks all tender, saying she makes him feel good? I don't know.
I love this show, so I'm sorry to be such a downer. I just wasn't impressed and I'm hoping it gets better!

ugh.
I haven't watched the whole episode yet, but I did catch a few of the flashbacks. I really hope the whole season is not like that.
I couldn't stand her alive, why can't she just stay dead?

It was a slow start, and I really hope it picks up.
It's too early in the season to say I'm disappointed. But if this is another season of Dexter avoiding getting found out I'm not sure I'm going to love it.

I think him looking all tender and sentimental was just that - all just a look, no feelings.
He didn't really mean those things (both back in the beginning and after her death) and it was all a show. Then, to loop her in to try a 'regular' life, and now to get him off of the radar for her death.
Maybe I'm just looking to the bright side and hoping that was it.

what was up with quinn???? he lost soo much weight and looks terrible.
the episode was eggh, but im a huge fan and cant wait to see how the story unfolds!

I wasn't crazy about it, either.
Deb is starting to remind me of Tara from True Blood with her bad decisions. 
I choked when Dexter said, "I'm sorry for your loss" to the kids.  He thinks Rita helped make him human?
Dexter isn't going to be able to evade Quinn as easily he did Doakes. This looks like it's going to be a better chase.

By the way... the "It was me" statement he made...
Do you think he said it because his son was on the floor, "born in blood" and he was saying that it was him? History repeating itself?
Or that he blames himself because he was out doing his thing with Trinity instead of being home with Rita?

i think its a bit of both....
thought the episode is okay but i think dexter should start at least acting a little bit more like a grieving husband so as not to attract more attention to him.... i think quinn is gonna be in some hot water this season... he may end up like doakes!

I think he said it because he feels responsible, since if he had killed Trinity (or even just let him kill himself) sooner she would still be alive.

I was disappointed. I have high hopes of it getting better though. I really wanted him to shed a tear but I guess that's not what he's about - there's a point to him being so cold about it obviously since he's a serial killer. And I get the bathroom kill was a "human moment" for him but it wasn't part of the code. Poor loser, that must've been painful...

It was a bit of a drag. I read somewhere that this was done on purpose and it starts to really get going with episode 3.
I thought Julia Stiles was going to be in this season but I never saw her in the upcoming season clips.
BTW, Debra drives me ******* nuts. Just had to say it.

I never liked Rita either! I can't stand Quinn! I didn't really like the episode .

But, I was happy to finally see him show some emotion. even it if meant killing a random guy in the middle of nowhere.
and am I the only one annoyed that harry's back? doesn't dexter know by now he can do this without him?

I'm with you about wanting to see a little bit of emotion. I guess we'll have to settle for awkward screaming on a dirty bathroom floor. 
Did anyone else get a chuckle when he meets the funeral director?
I could do without Harry too. I think he was more relieved that he was 'back' because it's his way of having someone who understands him, without giving up this life he has built on lies.
