DH & Vericocele???Anyone????

I was wondering if you ladies have had any experience with your DH and having a Vericocele. My DH found out feb.06 that he had a grade 4 out of 5 vericocele, he had the surgery to correct it and we succeeded in getting pregnant 2 weeks later. Now he says he feels that it might have grown a little bit and maybe it is reoccuring, Im kinda wondering if that coould cause his sperm not to work. My gyno said the vericocele can cause his sperm to be hot and not work as well but he still might be fertile. Do you guys have any experience or advise with this???

We had issues with TTC b/c my DH had vericoceles. He is 8 years older than me so he had them a long time and it caused his sperm count to go down.

We had to see a fertility specialist and now have a 4 year old son and 1 year old twin boys..all conceived through IUI with fertility drugs.

By the way his brother also had vericoceles and had them fixed much younger than DH. THey have 5 kids ..all conceived naturally.

It's not the worst fertility problem to have. However, I think he should see his dr. again to make sure his count doesn't go to low.

Thank you, DH had the surgery 2.5 years ago and he says he feels that is had grown again, did your DH or his brother have any reoccurances? The website said 5% of men get a reoccurance, that would just figure for us that my DH would in the 5%.

Hi there, My DH had vercocele repair last October(07). We then tried on our own for 6 months after that, although the Dr. told us it could take up to a year to see the full results of the surgery. Our dr. said it could come back or could happen in another vein since that one is tied off.
We ended up seeing an RE in April and had IVF in August after 3 rounds of IUI. We are now pregnant and due in April. We are hoping that we won't have to go through IVF to get pregnant again but because we never saw any great results from the surgery we are happy we have 4 frozen embies.
So far DH hasn't mentioned that he feels like anything has grown back but I think it would be kinda fast for that anyway.
