DH and FIL did our basement entrance!!! PICS
We needed a basement entrance so we paid someone to just dig the hole and pour the forms. The rest DH, FIL and BIL did on their own! I think it looks great! we still have some details to finish up but the big stuff is done!
Im just happy that now DH can bring in materials to finish the basement

believe it or not they cut the opening put in the door and did the drain all in ONE day! the steps were done over time since they need to do only a few at a time since you cant step on them when they are wet.
the guy charged us 2300 to dig it out and pour it would have been over 4500 to do that, the drain, cut the opening and the steps as well (but the steps would have just been poured concrete and we wanted brick and limestone steps)

I AM SO GLAD you posted this. We have no entrance from the outside to the basement in our new house. We have a crack by a window and I said it made sense to use that to put a doorway in instead of repairing the crack from the window. AWESOME!
Edit: did you need a permit to put the entrance in?
