DH doesn't like to buy gifts for the holidays...

I feel like it's always a discussion, should we do or not do gifts for the holidays... I of course want to do gifts. I grew up with them, always get gifts for my family for birthdays, the holidays, etc. His family does not do this... they do not make it a point to specifically get gifts for each other-- they will just randomly get something and say, ok-- that's your gift-- there is NO FUN in that.

Anyway-- DH HATES shopping for gifts for me-- and it annoys me-- like, why can't you try to just come up with something nice, or even surprise me... why does everything always have to be so planned or practical?

Anyone else have this- or thoughts on how to handle??

Last year I even got blue and white stockings with our names on it-- and we just got little inexpensive things to have fun stuff to open-- it;s not a spending money thing though-- it's a idea/effort thing.

i can somewhat relate, my boyfriend hates holidays and getting gifts... so its really hard to buy him anything b/c he never wants anything, then on top of that we celebrate both christmas and hanukkah in my family--he only celebrates hanukkah so i said ok lets pick one nite of the hanukkah celebrations and make our own traditions...

he doesnt seem to get that i enjoy the holiday spirit and what it means and how its just fun, its not supposed to be a hastle and i can see why u would be bummed that ur hubby is just not into at all :(
