DH/MIL rant
OK, I usually never complain about my MIL, mostly because she doesnt speak English so we cant fight, but also she is very good to my son. We do have different views about alot of things but I usually can let them go (like skim vs whole milk).
well, this week has been very hard for me. We had a big dissapointment this week and I am still recovering. So last night DH made plans to have my son stay at my ILs and take me out. We went to dinner but I was too exhausted to make a movie so we just came home. My son was so busy with his new train set there that he only quickly got on the phone to say good night and then was off again. This morning we called and were told he was out walking the dog with my MIL and BIL. 10minutes, 15minutes, 20 minutes go by he is still not back and I am getting worried. Then they call and my son gets on the phone and says Mommy, I went on the big train. THEY TOOK HIM FOR A RIDE ON THE SUBWAY!!!!!!!!! I was so upset, first they didnt ask me if it was OK, 2) they hid it from me 3) the subway is not the safest place and 4) maybe I wanted to be the first one to take him on a train.
Then I was so upset and my DH initially tried to console me but I could tell he thought I was overreacting and didnt want to have a fight with his mother. I told him I wanted him to go pick him up right away and he said OK but proceeded to do something else. So I got dressed to go get him which started a HUGE fight between us.
I think the thing that hurts the most was that after all we have been through DH and I just last night were talking about just how valuable our son is and how what has happened makes him even more precious to us. Then today.. this.
Sorry this is so long.

Re: DH/MIL rant
Sorry that happened to you. I agree, a subway is not the safest of places. What was she doing anyway think him for a ride on the subway? It must be so difficult when your MIL doesn't speak english...

I am sorry about this. I just don't see why you were lied to. To be honest I would be VERY mad about being lied to. When I ask where my child is I expect to be told exactly where my child is...I would probably not allow them to babysit until they understand that. Sorry things have been difficult for you.

Re: DH/MIL rant
I am sure I wasnt told first because I would have said no. Dh says that his father really thought they just went out to walk the dog and I can believe that they just spontaneously decided to go into the subway. Who knows but this was very upsetting, moreso that DH tried to protect his mother from my wrath!
