Dh working late

Anyone pretty much "go it alone"? I feel like a single parent lately with dh working 7-8:30-9:00. I am doing everything on top of working full time and are at my wits end. I feel like I am pulled in a million directions (work, baby, house work, chef) and now wonder how I would be able to make it with 2???

Re: Dh working late

My DH doesn't get home until 8:30 sometimes 9:00. Soon after that time I'm ready to hit the sack myself after taking care of the baby before work and after work.

Hang in there, you're not aloneChat Icon

Re: Dh working late

i'm home on maternity leave now and DH doesn't get home until 7:30. he eats quickly & then we bathe Abby. he doesn't have a lot of time with her before bedtime, then i'm the one up with her in the middle of the night. i do feel exhausted and overwhelmed taking care of her 24/7. but i know he would if he had more time.

when i go back to work in a few months, he is going to have to step up big time!!

Re: Dh working late

I am a SAHM and my DH works all the time 6 sometimes 7 days a week and from 8am-9pm. He is putting in a lot of hours now because we are added to the house but i wish he were home. It is a lot of work for both of us and i hate doing it all alone. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

My husband works nights and I work days. I am alone every night with my daughter. It's not easy but I enjoy our Mommy and daughter time.

Dh is physically out of the country and in harms way 6 months of the year (with very little contact) and then once every 2 months or so he is away for a week at a time.
I feel your pain even though I'm a SAHM, do you have family near by to help. I don't and it sucks. Luckily we have some great friends and neighbors.

Me! DH is a police officer and works nights, 7pm - 7am so he leaves at 6pm and doesn't get home until 8am. He sleeps during the day so I'm on my own ALOT! I work full-time also and am a zombie at work sometimes. When I see my Sweet Pea's smiling face it's not even an issue. Chat Icon

ME!!! I feel like a single Mom too.
I'm a SAHM, but it's still really hard trying to get things done without any "relief" at 6 or 7pm.
How I would kill for that!

I TOTALLY enjoy my time w/ DD, & we have a nice routine going now, but it still would nice to get a break.

I'm a SAHM mom too, but DH works 6-7 days a week and often doesn't come home until 11 p.m. or so. It's hard, but I look at it in two ways: 1, he's providing for me to stay home and not work, and 2, I get to have some alone time and watch TV without the channel being surfed every 2 seconds Chat Icon Chat Icon But I know what you mean, I would kill to have him home for dinner and getting the kids ready for bed!

I give you SOO much credit. Whenever I see any show with troops coming home to their families, I instantly cry! I can't even imagine what you are going through. I am lucky to have a supportive family, I guess its the day to day "grind" that is getting to me.
