DHEA supplements

My RE prescribed this 25mg, 2x/day. At first, I thought this was already in my pre-natal, but then realized it was different.
My question is: Has anyone had success with an increase in the amount of eggs, b/c of the DHEA?
TIA
***Edited to change dosage

Re: DHEA supplements

I take 50 mg once a day. I haven't had a sonogram to check what the results of using it are.

Re: DHEA supplements

I'm not a success story BUT I took 75mg a day for 3 1/2 months (stopped day of ER). I went from getting 1-3 mature eggs to getting 10. From getting 1 embryo to getting 8 embryo's. I did change my protocol, but I remember going in for a follie check and the RE saying you have "many". Never heard that on my previous 3 cycles. Honestly, if it wasn't my 4th IVF and if we weren't OOP, I would have tried one more time. I guess timing is everything.

I highly recommend the DHEA. You were confusing it with DHA, which is the omega-3 proteins. That are very good for you.

The secret to DHEA is that you need to actually take them for at least 3 cycles before you can get the benefit. Plus you don't want to be on them for a long time.

Some people have side effects of oily skin and hair falling out. I only had oily skin. My hair was amazingly strong.

I think it will get you more follicles (I am proof of that) but it wont make your eggs "better". However, if you can get a lot of follicles you just might get the golden egg in there.

Good luck. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Re: DHEA supplements

Thanks everyone. I've only been on it for about 2 weeks or so...but lately, I feel so dang hungry. I've lost about 13 pounds since my hysteroscopy in Oct., so I dont want to gain any back, but man, am I ever hungryChat Icon I did read that it helps with metabolism, so I dont know if that has anything to do with it.
