DH's First Day Home Alone with DS
He's home for the summer and has DS for a full day on Tuesday's only. Other days he is either p/t daycare or with my MIL.
So today was a big deal for him. And I can see that he was nervous. I was nervous too. He spends plenty of alone time with DS but usually for not more than 2 hours at a time.
Well, it can only get better from here. While I was in the shower I heard a big thud.
Yep, he fell off our bed. My bed is about 3 feet off the floor. Thank god it's carpet. He slept with us after waking up at 4am for no good reason. We were all awake (so I thought) when I went in the shower. But DH "dozed" back off. And DS didn't.

This is going to be a long day for you.
ETA: oh...I was hoping that it would bring a smirk to your face but when I read it I don't like the way it came across. I say that when DH has Lucas to joke.
Hopefully that was the first and last incident. He'll get the hang of it

Re: DH's First Day Home Alone with DS
I remember being so nervous the first time I left DS all day with DH. I left very detailed notes, but it worked out great. DH really enjoyed it and he is much more confident with DS now and not nearly as nervous if he is going to alone with the baby for an extended period.
I came home and DH was telling me how they took a long walk, played in the yard, ate, napped, etc.

You did get a smirk from me -- haha. It didn't come across bad at all.
Honestly, I didn't want to get rip-roaring PO'd at him because I know that would just make for a really bad day. It happens. I know DH felt awful about it. I know he learned his lesson. In a lot of way so did I (never leave the room until I know DH is really awake). I just don't think this "incident" did much by way of building his confidence. We'll see what the rest of the day has in store for us.
