Diaper champ...am I missing something ?

I putting together the nursery after the shower and the diaper champ - the instructions confused the heck out of me - do you just put in a bag and that is it - put the dirty diapers in it and turn the handle until it just falls into the base? What is it actually that keeps the smell out? I just thought there should be more to it. This is the one we got :

Yup. Just put a bag in the bottom and dumpt the diapers in. I think it works great keeping the smell out, however, I'm a little disappointed that I didn't know it comes in pink!Chat Icon

Yup that's all you do! It really does keep the smell in there somehow. I never smell anything in DS room. Watch out however when you open it to empty it, they are dirty diapers after all!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
But honestly I love having it, I'm glad I don't have to go outside all the time.

It's great on newborn diapers, but as your child starts eating more and more table food there's nothing that will contain that smell. At least not that anyone I know has found. We put them in plastic bags from the grocery store and right out to the garbage can.

Same here, I'm actually looking to get rid of mine because we don't use it anymore.

Me too. And I love mine too! I guess it works by the little "stopper" thing turning over to dump the diaper in so the inside of the pail is never exposed to the room.
