Re: Diaper free baby!!!
Its cool, but I personally wouldnt try. Logan cant even sit up on his own and he's 6 months. I cant imagine trying to get him to sit on a potty yet.

Re: Diaper free baby!!!
TOO funny! DH and I were joking last night that we were going to hold Alex over the toilet like that because she has problems pooping and that's the only position that seems to work!

Re: Diaper free baby!!!
My mom was raised in Germany & was potty trained by age 1. I think I could actually do it for poops with Cole becuase he's like clock work once a day and I can tell when its coming. Peeing is an entirely different issue though!

The same for Jack. He actual goes in a corner and squats down. I understand their whole approach like why diaper train a baby when you will just have to reverse it later on, but its just not something for me.

Re: Diaper free baby!!!
A woman from Thailand at my lactation consultant group does this. I guess its just how they do things in her country so to her its normal. She only diapers the baby when they go out. I could never do it but I think its pretty neat to be able to read your baby's cues that well.

Same here- I know when the poops are coming - but I never know about peeing - that's a tough one!

Re: Diaper free baby!!!
I saw something about this when I was in the hospital ... I personally think it's really wacky. It would be nice not to have to go through the potty training thing later -- but it's hard enough having newborn let alone having to sit it on the potty all the time! I think we'll stick to diapers for now!

Re: Diaper free baby!!!
This is getting so much press. Go to cnn.com and they have a story on there that you can watch... I have been hearing about it for the past month since that New York Times article...
Personally, I am no for it, it seems just tooo time consuming...

Re: Diaper free baby!!!
All I have to say is I have many more things to do with 1 potty trained 100% by 3yrs and 1 9 month old who is learning to walk and a house to maintain and my DH's business to "run" to be concerned about watching my son for any sign of his need to deficate I will deal with diapers and wipes :)

Re: Diaper free baby!!!
I think that's crazy!!!!!!! There are so many way more important things to do with an infant than worry about bathroom signals.

I agree I saw this on the Today show a couple of weeks ago. I don't think a baby can understand its body that well. Like the other mom's I know when Alex is going poo but pee is a whole other story. Plus, I think babies have so much to learn that potty training can wait.

Re: Diaper free baby!!!
Who has time to rush their baby to the toilet every 20 minutes to see if they have to go. I'd drive myself crazy, plus I wouldn't get anything done....and forget shopping....
