Diaper Genie-(or one like that) Did you get/use one?

With the upcoming babies, double the diaper duty/doodie ( ha no pun intended) and a split home with levels,

Im thinking of getting one.

I didnt with G.

Was it worth having?

i have one in DD's room but i only use it for pee diapers otherwise her entire room stinks.

I think in your case it may be perfect for you. We got ours from our registry and would up returning it. We throw the garabage out in DS's room a lot and use the scented bags. If it's a poop then that goes immediatly. Plus, he's in daycare so the majority of the dirty diapers are there.

We use ours every day every diaper! Love it! We only have a one bedroom co-op and DD sleeps in our room and we keep the diaper genie next to the changing table in our room. I can honestly say I never smell a poopie diaper EVER! DD is only 3 months so I dont know if that will change when she starts eating solids, but so far we LOVE it!!!

IMO a must with twins!!!! Between my older DS and the babies, the house would stink all the time!!! I empty it every night or every other night, but without it I would be outside with smelly diapers 10 times a day!

With a toddler and twins anything that makes your life just a touch easier is worth it!

IMO biggest waste EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!We had the diaper genie elite we kept it in our bathroom on the first floor because the girls were in bassinetts in our room. It started to smell rather quickly. DH put in outside to air out and it has been under the awning since about November!

We have the diaper dekor and love it. We have had it since she was an infant and still use it today for pee pee and poopy diapers. We have never had a problem with the room smelling. We also don't use their bags, we use the white scented trash bags and I also keep an air freshener in the bottom, so maybe that all helps!!

Never got one- just tie them up in the scented diaper disposal bags from Dollar Tree and put them in the trash.

We had the Graco one.

Used it for like..a month. Then threw it out. Total waste of money for us because we empty our kitchen garbage daily.

With the diaper pail you hang onto smelly diapers until its full which in the beginning when the diapers are little could be a week. IMO that's gross. I'd rather just it go out daily with the trash.

eta - the room never smelled foul from the diapers. But when you opened the diaper pail to empty, hold your breath or you will PUKE!

i have 3 genie IIs and LOVE THEM... the down stairs one gets changed every few days due to it getting full but the one in the nursery and ds's room can go a full week without being changed without any odor

I love the diaper champ (the regular not the deluxe etc) - i used it up until DD was over 1 yr. It was great b/c you could use regular grocery store bags

I have one and never had a problem with it smelling. The darn thing does jam from time to time and you really need to push the diapers past the mechanism otherwise it will jam.
