diaper rash and teething?

my mom took dd to the pediatrician today while i was at work for a bad diaper rash which i thought a yeast infection-

my pediatrician was not in so we had to go another office next door and see another pediatrician

so he said it's a diaper rash but it's because she's teething? how to those 2 have anything to do with each other?

he said she has more saliva and swallowing it more therefore peeing more and when they teethe sometimes their urine can get stronger?

it just doesn't seem right to me?

but he did prescribe me a lotion to put on her

I read alot of moms saying they come together on here. My dd is only going to be 3months old sat, so havent experienced it.

I've heard this, and it's pretty true with my DD. She has never had bad diaper rash thank god, but when she's teething she'll get a few bumps. Don't know why, but it is true for us.
