Diaper rash is FINALLY over but need wipe recommendations now
Now that the rash is pretty much gone, I need an alternative to the paper towels I was using this weekend. I was using Pampers Sensitive wipes prior to the rash but for some reason I think this might be one of the issues with the excessive rash.
What do you use for wipes for a very sensitive toddler’s bottom? I’m thinking of making my own wipes with paper towels and water but wonder if it would dry out? Anyone try to do this?

When DD has a rash we only use wet papers towels.

DD has sensitive skin and we use the Parent's Choice Real Cloth wipes from WalMart, they come in a 3 pack for $4.50, love them!

I bring paper towels with us and wet them from a water bottle. DD will SCREAM with anything else.. If im home I will also wash her butt in the sink with the sprayer.

Re: Diaper rash is FINALLY over but need wipe recommendations now
We use Huggies wipes (the sensitive, no alcohol no fragrance ones). But honestly, I always dunk them in water before I use them anyway. And if I'm out I always wet them with water (i carry an extra water bottle). I find it less irritating to wet the wipes. I've done it this way for like a year and he's 18 months already. Works well for us.

If I'm home I wash DD's butt in the sink. If we're out, we use the Huggies sensitive (no alcohol, unscented one).

Continue using the sensitive ones but the key is to have paper towels handy to pat the bottom dry before putting the fresh diaper on.. ;)

Re: Diaper rash is FINALLY over but need wipe recommendations now
After DS got a few nasty diaper rashes I ended up switching to Tushies wipes.

Re: Diaper rash is FINALLY over but need wipe recommendations now
DS had a horrendous diaper rash also so I actually ordered Medline Disposable washcloths from amazon. They are the same dry wipes that they use in the hospital. I believe the pampers sensitive wipes played a part in the initial rash as well.

I only use the Kirkland wipes from Costco. They are the only ones that I can tolerate the smell of and have not had a problem yet.

Earth's Best are great. No chemicals or fragrances, DS has never had any irritation and he has really sensitve skin.

Re: Diaper rash is FINALLY over but need wipe recommendations now
pamper sensitive has been really good for us
but I try to wash his butt in the sink when there is poop
just google "making homemade baby whipes" lots of ideas on how to do this without detergents etc
most of the recipes I've seen use baby oil and some kind of mild soap
eta: my ped said to never whipe after only a pee, the pee actually has uric acid which helps to heal the skin

Re: Diaper rash is FINALLY over but need wipe recommendations now
we use cloth wipes a lot - ijust put them in a wipe warmer - they sell it at BBB or through amazon - i have about 24 wipes - just throw in washing machine
otherwise we use earths best wipes when we are out and at daycare but only for poopy diapers - my son is llergic to all pampers wipes - also when potty training my son had a reaction to the pampers brand of flushable wipes
