Hi Diane,

I don't know if I can help because I didn't have twins, premesies- I had a moose-Chat Icon Almost 9lbs at birth but I think you can start stock piling all sizes, NB's and up! As for the formula. You can buy it now if you want but there is no telling what formula your babies will work best on. Most stores will not take it back without a receipt but BRU will let you exchange formula for other formula. So you could try that if you want. If you are going to do diapers I would buy a few different brands because, again what works for one baby doesn't necessarily work well for another. For me, I prefered pampers. My DD never had a problem with huggies but it was my preference. My friend had a little boy 4 days before and he does best in Luvs. He had leaking issues at night with both Pampers and Huggies. I had another friend that swore by White Cloud. The good thing about diapers is that stores will let you exchange them without a receipt so if you see a good deal, I say stock up!

Re: Diapers......

I'd start hinting that you want diapers and wipes for your shower! I got all different brands and got lucky that they all worked well for us. Started with Pampers swaddlers Newborn size and she quickly grew out of those (from the hospital).

I'd skip size 1-2 altogether....I had bought a case and I have a bunch leftover.

My preference (personal only) is for pampers...swaddlers are awesome and just started using Baby dry....both are great.

Had GREAT experiences with: Luvs, Huggies Supreme (not the regular), and White Cloud (Walmart brand).

She's 4 months old now and in size 2 (12-18 lbs) and I believe she's on the smaller side....I've seen and held so many babies that were born around the same time, and they are HUGE compared to my jelly bean.

I think you can pile up onthe smallest size and the next size, but don't open them all. You can exchange the size if you have to when babies come. Same for formula. You dont' know what they will like or be able to tolerate, but I *think* you can exchange formula also.

Re: Diapers......

I have to say that you should definately stock up on wipes because you can't go wrong there. However you should ask around -- maybe start a poll on the parenting board -- but I know we prefer the huggies brands -- I think what we have now is Huggies Natrual Care and we get a big box of like 600+ wipes from BJs because you do go through them quickly and you never want to run out. We found pampers to be way too rough.

As far as formula I wouldn't buy any yet until you know what the babies can handle. Usually the hospital starts you on one and then depending on how the babies react to it you will stick with it or change as necessary. Some people never change formulas and some try every one on the market until they find the right one.

With diapers you will definately use a lot of sizes 1/2 and size 3 so stock up on then but we didn't use that many newborn. That depends on ho wbig the babies are when they are born.

I used premie diapers, newborns and size ones, but one of my sons was not even 5 lnbs when he came home. The premies even though they were small, they didn't hold much, and he peed as much as a 9 pounder. When my little guy was in the hospital they had him in size ones, since the 2 lb babies got the newborns.
