diapers for newborns

Do you recommend the pampers swaddlers for a newborn? Also, how long did they stay in that size. I figure if I find good prices I will buy a box or two along the way...while I wait for baby.

Honestly, i would not recommend buying too many diapers before the baby is born. Many babies skip the newborn diapers, and also the shape of a baby will determine the diapers you use. Pampers were never good for Ava, she always leaked. We use BJs brand. I would say have SOME, but not a ton. The hospital will send you home with a ton, too.

I agree with Rachel. I had some packages of NB Pampers swaddlers that Steven never got to wear because he was born a big boy and they never fit him. I had opened the packages so I couldnt even return them.

Like Rachel said, many kids skip them entirely. If you want to stock up or register for them just start with size 1. When you are in the hospital you can have someone run out for some newborns if you need them.

As my kids were very small we did go through several cases of them but they really only go up to about 8 lbs. DS is 8 lbs now and in a few days he'll start size 1. Many of my friends never used them on their kids.

I've used the Pampers Swaddlers and never had a leak with either of my kids.

He was in preemie at the hospital... so big, so fast.

The hospital used Pampers Swaddlers and I loved them. I bought a couple of packs after she was born, but she only wore them for a few weeks.

I love the Swaddlers too. I agree with what everyone else said about not going crazy pre-buying too many packages of diapers.

I love Pampers swaddlers, DD was in the newborn size for a good 2 months.
She was born 7lbs 2ozs.

I am using them again with #2
