I would recommend not buying many at all.

I think we had maybe 3 packs of Swaddlers when DS came home from the hospital. They give you a bunch there to bring him, and you don't know what will fit/work for DC until they are here!

Re: Diapers....Which ones?

I bought one pack of Size 1 Swaddlers. I will filch what I can from the hospital and then when we get home, we'll see what size DC is & go from there.

I like Pampers the best so we are starting with them. When my first DC was about 6 months old, we switched to Eckerd Supremes and now we do CVS Supremes. We'll probably do the same with this next baby.

Re: Diapers....Which ones?

I still havent bought diapers and DD is almost 9 weeks old. I got a TON at my shower and I was able to try out the different ones. Most moms love pampers and they were TERRIBLE for DD so you really need to see what works.

Re: Diapers....Which ones?

Like the others said, you get a ton at the hospital & you don't know about size. The hospital started her in size 1 (she was never in newborn) & we stuck w/ pampers swaddlers & then switched to baby dry when she was in size 3's. I also got a bunch at my shower & don't remember buying diapers until she was maybe 5 months old or older.

Re: Diapers....Which ones?

when I had DS I only used swaddlers then went on to pampers cruisers... Until one day I said lets try the bj brand diapers... And to my surprise they worked very well....

With this baby we are going to use the BJ Brand diapers until she grows out of them.... they are less expensive and you get in some cases more then pampers in the box...

Pampers Swadllers are the best. Don't buy too many small sizes, they grow out of them fast. I only used NB size for maybe 3 weeks. Also, if you order from Diapers.com they have Swaddlers in "in-between" sizes which are great.........they fit SO much better than say a size 1 or 2. Emerson wore NB's, then size 1-2, now at 6 months she is still in the size 2-3 Swaddlers and they fit great! Chat Icon

i was planning on seeing what the hospital gives us and what we get at the shower. then we are going to hit Costco or BJs and get them cheap for the rest of the tiem DC needs them.

I use the Swaddlers (Pampers) I tried switching to huggies once - the diaper leaked overnight all over her back and she had a major dipaer rash. I will NEVER use them again

I registered for 1 box of newborn (84 count) and 2 of Size 1. (66 count and maybe 180ct) In addition I plan to buy some on my own.

How many you think is smart to get???

I guess it depends on the size of your baby at birth but I didn't even get through that many NB diapers. I would buy the small pack of like 44 diapers and start there. Chat Icon
