Did anybody go to the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College
I'm thinking about going there for my MBA and wanted some feedback. Even if you got your Bachelors, I was just wondering what people thought of it.

I attended Baruch but didn't do business. My sisters attended Zicklin. Good school, good program, very affordable and it also doesn't have a shabby reputation with top finance companies either.

Re: Did anybody go to the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College
I did my MBA at Zicklin- my concentration was entrepreneurship/small biz management.. I thought it was a great school. Zicklin grad's have a reputation of being hard workers- people who are motivated and will pull themselves up by their boot straps.
I learned a lot - it was hard- I went PT and worked FT- but it was worth it and I learned a lot.
b/c I wasn't in finance- I didn't reap a huge monetary reward for finishing... but I feel very well rounded and confident I can go anywhere/do anything.
edited to say- I think the education is a great value- the entire MBA cost me $22k - you couldn't probably do a year at Columbia or NYU for that amount!!!

Re: Did anybody go to the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College
Got my undergrad there, and it's my top MBA school.
_________Undergrad Baruch is a school (duh - obvious) - but it's not a "social" school. A majority of the students attend the night classes b/c they are either working full time during the day or have an internship. That being said - the classes at night fill up the quickest.
I completed my courses in the right amount of time - took 18 credits per semester and still worked full time for a Broker/Dealer. All my classes started at 5:45, ended at 9:50. Never took a Friday or weekend class. So, it's totally do-able.
The known "hardest" majors were Accounting & Computer Information Systems. Many students would enter these programs, and quickly change to Finance. I stuck with CIS (BBA) and minored in English - I absolutely loved my classes, professors, and the students. I honestly had no complaints, and that's probably b/c I was part-machine, and went to work, went to school, and got it done with.
________GRAD They have an Executive MBA program (which is what I'm holding out for) where you will not have to take the GMAT, and it will be based on your previous work experience. These classes are geared also towards "part-time school" and "full time work."
The "regular" MBA program requires that you have at least TWO full years of work experience, post-BA - internships do not count.
I think I have all my information correct - but don't quote me as I haven't looked at the requirements, etc. in two years.

just wanted to say that to get an MBA you should have work experience b/c if you don't what you learn doesn't "mean" anything- it's all about relating what you learn to what you've experienced.... Also- MBA isn't really book learning- it's all case work.

My boss went to Baruch & raves about the education he got there.

Re: Did anybody go to the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College
Baruch is a very very good Business School especially for a Master's. For the price you can't beat the education and the reputation is just as good if not better than other big Univ's like NYU and Columbia. I plan on applying there when I finish my undergrad next year.
