I wonder what happens to a lot of these day laborers who are hurt on the job. They have absolutely no recourse, do they? And I am sure it happens.
oh yes they do, many times my company has unwittingly hired PHONY SS card, Dept of Labor license and DEP Lic. card carrying individuals (yes they actually were able to get docs from DOL)
some got hurt accidently, some were totally staged... either way they sue and are are entitled to Workers Comp and possibly damages.
Even the guy who used his cousins SS#, and was caught by a PI working on Disability received a settlement from our insurance company. This type of thing needs to stop.

My Dad just told me about this...it's true. He said alot of people he knows that work in the factory nearby were picked up. And he saw them picking people up off the street.
