Did anyone get answers from genetic testing on the fetus?
I am hearing that only 50% are answered but yet three people Ive talked to had answers. I am hoping for anything. I just need closure. They said they are testing it and the results come in 4weeks.

Re: Did anyone get answers from genetic testing on the fetus?
i did. My results came within I would say 4 weeks as well. It was determined that the miscarriage was due to turners syndrome and that it was a girl (based on the fact that turners is only found in females). I did give me comfort to know that it wasn't something I did or have. I'm so sorry for your loss

Re: Did anyone get answers from genetic testing on the fetus?
I did, but then again my baby was 17.5wks along. It must be easier to do these things the further along the baby is. That's my guess.
We knew the issues before my D&E but we sent the placenta to find out if it was caused by a genetic issue- which we later found out it wasn't!!

Re: Did anyone get answers from genetic testing on the fetus?
I did, I had 47 chromosomes, not 46. So they said that it happens and that is not a genetic or fertility issue.

I did not, both times. Each time they said it was normal. This lead the RE to believe it was a blood clotting issue with me.

Re: Did anyone get answers from genetic testing on the fetus?
I did. I was told that the baby had an entire extra half-set of chromosomes - it was 69XXY instead of either 43XX or 43XY. They were able to tell me that this was caused by a problem with the egg - either the egg didn't split and was 43XX instead of being 23X or it was caused by a 23X egg letting in both a 23X and a 23Y sperm.

Re: Did anyone get answers from genetic testing on the fetus?
how do they know if you have a clotting issue? How would they prevent it? And if this was true would you have always had this issue?

Re: Did anyone get answers from genetic testing on the fetus?
On my first loss we knew already that the baby had triplody or 69xxx chromosomes because we did the CVS test. Second time around I did have the tissue tested and they found different chromosomal issue. It took about 4 weeks

Same here. The one testing i had came back normal. Im now on a daily low dose aspirin a day. While its easier to have an answer. I was kind of relieved to not have an issue too. So its 6 of 1 half a dozen of another.

Every person is different. But most people have these conditions & dont know it. Perhaps your were very lucky the first time. I decided to ask my doctor to have all of this testing done just so i can rule it out. I came back positive for two copies of MTHFR BUT the least likely to clot kind. In any case we decided to go on a low dose aspirin regimen. Of course i did not do this without the doctors opinion & advice. Speak to your doctors if you feel it will make u feel better. Good luck.
