Did anyone have Christening gowns made from their wedding dress?
Their Christening is in 6 weeks and I really want to do this - I'm not sure if I have enough time though. Can anyone recommend a dress maker or seamstress that might be able to do this? Thanks!

I love this idea. My SIL did this from her train. I'm no help though because her mom made it for her.

Re: Did anyone have Christening gowns made from their wedding dress?
I did this w/my gown for my daughter. My daughter was born at the end of July, her first fitting was in mid-August and her christening was the beginning of October, just to give you an idea of the timing.
I used Elena Do Vale at Designing Dreams in Mineola. They are at 216 East Jericho Trnpk. Phone - 516-248-1988 They were really wonderful to work with and I was very happy with the result. They certainly weren't going to stop short of me being thrilled and that was very evident in the way they treat you and work with you through the designing process. I highly recommend them.

There is also a lady in KP I have used for alterations and I bet she would do this too. She is very sweet and does great work! Rosalbas Alterations on Main Street

Re: Did anyone have Christening gowns made from their wedding dress?
Well I went tonight - seemed like a great idea but ! I said will it be more than $100/150 and she said definitely yes...I just can't expect the Godmothers to spend that much money on the gowns, and I was even going to go 1/2 - I just can't see it. OH well. I might have necklaces made out of my tiara, we'll see.
