Did anyone have luck making bedtime later?

Everything I read says the earlier you put them down, the later they will sleep.
DD has been going to sleep around 7 -7:15 for a while now and used to wake up between 6:30 and 7.
Then she was teething and was waking up in the middle of the night and early AM.
Teething over for now, still not sleeping past 6:15, I don't know if I should put her to bed later or not.
Last night she didn't go to sleep until around 7:30 and she got up before 6.

No I would continue putting her to bed at her "normal" time. As they say sleep begets sleep and putting your DC to sleep later doesn't guarantee them sleeping in later.

Teething, hitting milestones & being sick usually disrupts sleep and you will just have to suck it up unfortunately. My DD goes down anywhere between 6:45-7:30pm and sleeps till about 5:45-6:30am. I have put her down later on rare occasions and she will still get up at the same time.

Jacob goes down anywhere from 8-9:30pm and he wakes up between 8 -9:30am.. even when he night wakes. BUT, there have been mornings when he would wake at 5:30 or 6am.. and well that just doesnt fly with me, so i would ignore his initial cries and he would eventually nodd back to sleep. Worse case scenario i would get up at 7am. I dont do any earlier than that... Chat Icon

But i have heard that some babies no matter what time u put them down, they will still wake at the same time. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I agree & would do the same.

Good luck!

That's what I thought... although there are no milestones/teething or anything else going on this particularly week so it's just been quite annoying that she is waking so early... Hoping it changes on it's ownChat Icon
Thanks for the advice ladies.
