Did anyone hear about a kidnapping at Roosevelt Field?

My cousin told me about 2 children being kidnapped. I haven't heard anything about it. I called News 12 to investigate it.

Supposedly the mall is trying to keep quiet about it because they don't want to lose business.

I am not sure it is true but I just thought I would ask about it. The story is just soo awful

Here is what I heard:

A women and her 3 kids went to the mall. She put the 2 older ones in the car and was having them buckle themselves in. Her baby was in the stroller still. Someone started pushing the stroller and the mom started chasing after it.

Then 2 people went into her car and stole her 2 children that were in there. The person with the stroller let go and just ran.

Again I am not sure if it is true that is why I called the news. So they can find out or try to.

OMG, how horrible. Seriously, I always feel like a target while I try to juggle getting 2 kids into the car I hope if it is true, the public is made aware. I try not to go there at all, but I do end up there at times!

I have not heard about this but I must say and it could be because it is holiday time and I am paraniod but I was at BJs (Levittown) the other night (and my friend was carjacked there last year-at knife point) so I am extra paranoid I guess but there was a couple (man and woman) in an SUV parked right by my car just watching me as I put DS in the cart...I felt a little weird about it but thought OK its a couple maybe they are waiting for someone coming with a lot of stuff because it is sort of a front spot. Anyway I hurried up to the door because I really felt uncomfortable but figured by the time I am done they will be gone-ON NO guess again! I came out about 2 HOURS later and guess who was still waiting in the car in the spot in front of me-now I have a kid and a cart filled to the brim!!! So I quickly grabbed DS put him in the car strapped him in and locked his door-I had the keys in my pocket b/c I don't like to put them in the car to warm it up ever since my friends carjacking. Anyway I kept watching them, they kept watching me I tried to quickly put all my stuff in the car-figures BJs ran out of boxes that night so ONE by ONE I had to put my items in the car but my thought was hey if you want my stuff or my purse I'll give it up but you will have to beat me to death for the kid and I am not going to make it easy!!! There is a lot of strangeness out there-point is you have to be aware anywhere you go I guess! A friend of mine and I decided to shop and park near each other this season-safety in numbers you know? You know -- last night I was saying to DH -- we chip our pets, we can lowjack our cars....why not our KIDS???

I'd much rather get my kid back then my car!!! And with all the abductions these days, it doesn;t seem like a silly idea anymore

This is the exact reason why I do not go anywere or plan to go anywere with my child by myself!!! It makes me sick to my stomach.

Not buying it at all. If two children were kidnapped from a mall there would be an Amber alert issued and it would be all over the news. You can't just "hush hush" those things.

It's obviously a reminder though to be vigilent and aware of your surroundings, etc.

the other day when I had my nephew 2 and DD 10mths ....we were at the gas station and I started pumping gas when I felt someone staring at me so this creepy guy asks me to cvome over and help him he cant get his gas cap cover to open can I push the button and he will pull it and try to open it so I told him NO
he was begging me just for a second please so I stopped pumping and started getting ready to get in my truck and I said I cant im sorry he said oh I got it

so I pull away 2 seconds later he pulled away also......he didnt even get gas I feel like what would he have done if I helped him

I don't take DD shopping much and especially not to large stores. People are crazy! I do much of my holiday shopping on-line.

Scary to say but I could see this happening..even if this particular story isn't true. I always worry as I put my DD into her carseat..Because it is hard to be aware of your surroundings at that time.
