Did anyone NOT have a 1st birthday party for DC?
I swear with all types of family drama on both sides, I am seriously considering calling the whole idea off. However, i am being made to feel like I would somehow be depriving my son.
If you didn't have a party, did you regret it?

I had a small bbq and that was it. In all honesty, they have no idea what's going on. If you'd rather have just your family and a little cake for him... then do it.
On the actual day of my sons birthday, i worked.
If it's going to cause a ton of stress and frustration, then i wouldn't do it. Do something nice for his 2nd birthday, that's all.

I am only having the family over for DS's 1st birthday, and 1 of my friends. I don't know if you consider that a party.

Re: Did anyone NOT have a 1st birthday party for DC?
we had a very small party just family and it was just fine. We will be having a very small party at home this year too . I just don't think it's really necessary to throw a big party for first or 2nd birthday . They are just so young and they don't really understand ...... JMO....
I think we will have a big party next year
P.S. Where I come from they don't celebrate the first birthday, it's "bad luck"

Re: Did anyone NOT have a 1st birthday party for DC?
we planned on having a big party but ended up not, dd still hasnt been baptized so we are gonna have a big party for that. i feel bad but she dosnt know the difference, on the day of her bday we took her to atlantis marine world and had pizza and cake with my inlaws and 2 BIL and SIL so it was like a little party with the people who love her the most and she got a ton of presents so she didnt miss out in that aspect.
