DId anyone put their DC in daycare after they were 11 months old?

How did they adjust? Im afraid that DD wont nap there and and now everyday i will have a cranky baby my hands when i pick her up? Did they lean to sleep their? How long did it take? TIA-NAncy

My son started nursery at 12 months old and he took to it like a duck to water...he loved it from day one. It worked out brilliantly for me. My friend has just started her daughter at the same nursery and she has just turned 2, she also really loves it.

I have "not my child syndrome"...He sleeps on a mat, he eats a lot of food, he plays all day and he is generally lovely. This week his picture is on the board for good behavior. I can barely believe he is my child. He is ecstatic to see me in the evenings and we have a blast until bedtime!!!

My dd went to daycare at 9 months and it was a very tough transition. She cried every day for almost a month. She would have to be removed from me in the morning so I could go to work. Then when I would pick her up again she would start to cry again. It was so hard. She did stop crying once I left but dropping off was hard.

Okay, now the part that will make you feel better. After that initial adjustment period she was fine.

She did nap and she loved her teachers. My daughter is very clingy though so if your child is outgoing you might have a different experience.

I feel for you because it was so hard but in the end it was a great experience for her and helped her sleep better and socialize better.

Dd went AT 11 MONTHS. she adjusted fine. On her fist day she finger pianted. Of course with lots of help, but I will never forget it. She loved it! She went until she was 5years old and it was time to start school.

Ellie just started at 19 mos old. This is her second week. I was shocked when they told me that she napped on day 2, really pleasantly surprised. It's amazing what they can do, sometimes the adjustment is harder for us. I was bawling the first morning after I left her and she was fine and playing HTH!

DD is 16 months and will be starting daycare probably before the end of the month. I don't forsee any issues, but DD is a very easy-going kid. Good luck

SO glad you posted this! i am planning on putting DD in daycare at around 15mos in sept. i am SOOO nervous about it b/c right now and since the beginning it's just been me and her. she is extremely attached to me and very wary of strangers. hoping i am pleasantly surprised!

DD1 was 10 months old when she started daycare. Before that my SIL watched her. For DD, the transition went smoothly. She just kind of went with the flow of a new schedule.
