I haven't done research really, but have read in various places that it might be because now babies are put to bed on the their backs and spend more time on their backs rather than their bellies. I know when I was a baby, or even when my parents were babies, they were put to sleep on their bellies.

Re: Did anyone read anywhere or research..
I don't know if more babies actually have it, or if more are just being treated for it now. I know I am having to treat my DD for it and when I tell family members and friends with older children about her spitting up and what they're doing about it, many say, "oh my so-and-so had that". It seems like lots of babies have had this but it was just seen as part of being a baby before.

I think they are just treating more now. For us though it isn't a surprise b.c DH has had bad stomach issues since he was a newborn - he had reflux and colic when he was a baby and he was also lactose intolerant as a child. So it isn't a surprise both DD's have/had colic and reflux and DD#1 is lactose intolerant. So for us I think it is probably genetic.

I think it also has to do with allergies being on the rise. My baby had reflux but once he stopped getting milk protein no more reflux
