Re: Did anyone watch MAD MEN premier Sunday?!
totally forgot! ugh!
still haunted by the image of Don sitting on his terrace looking back in all dishelved. What a contradiction to every other time we get a shot of him looking at the window with his back to the audience. And coupled especially with how we are introduced to him in this episode - bi coastal master of the universe, looking perfect riding the escalator to the music of I am Man. Cant see his road thru this last season. Tho it doesn't bode well for him He truly is on the outside - of life, society and a job he so loves. But using Freddy as his extension was pretty genius, and so was that pitch, I mean - I want to buy that damn watch! Loved Joan this episode! I am a mass media communication grad so having the 4 P's and media mixes and Joan totally mastering that kid was so awesome. Go Joan! Poor Peggy.... I am in shock that SCDP would hire such a dinosaur to run its art dept I was sure she will get the job as she already is the most senior person on there
Strerling continues being awesome (and disgusting)

Re: Did anyone watch MAD MEN premier Sunday?!
I just watched it last night.
I thought it was a little slow, but the first episode usually is.
I loved that Don didn't sleep with the lady on the plane. He chose work--work is how he created " Don Draper" in the first place and now he is clinging to it to keep himself together.
Also, what was with Megan feeling dizzy. It reminded me how everyone here thought she was going to die.
I want to see what Sally is up to!

I feel like she is. they keep having these heavy Sharon Tate clues: her outfit last season, this season as she comes back from bathroom, then where she chose to live - Canyons, Don calling the place Dracula castle LOL

Im still haunted by that image too! Seems like he is trying to change in all aspects -- his philandering (Neeve Campbell wow...where did you come from? haha), his drinking, and his dedication to his work -- all cold turkey. He has always been a liar (or living a lie)... now we see him lying to save the image he created as Don Draper -- "i have to work" Cant wait to see how it all pans out.
I hate Roger in this commune/cult environment. He seems too old...but maybe im wrong. Someone said he will probably wind up at Woodstock. I still cant picture that.

Re: Did anyone watch MAD MEN premier Sunday?!
DH has a theory that the end of the series will be Don falling from an office building, just like the opening credits. Would be terribly depressing, but could be a fitting ending!
I love this show. i love all the characters and how they have developed and how we follow them all. Except maybe Betty and Sally. I'd be fine never seeing them again

That's been my theory too...how genius is it to show us the series ending at the beginning of every episode! While this would be depressing, I think that may be the direction we're heading.
