Did anyone watch "Run's House" last night?

The premier episode was on last night, and it was the one where the baby dies at birth. I was on the fence about the family sharing something so personal on MTV, but watched it anyway. I have to say, I def. felt horrible for the family, but I felt like the entire show was scripted. It didn't seem real to me. It was 2 days later and the family was basically over the tragedy. No one even seemed THAT upset at the hospital. I mean I'm sure it's hard with cameras watching, but something seemed off about the entire ordeal.

My heart still goes out to the family. To have to carry a baby for 9 months, then loose her at birth is so so sad and horrible Chat Icon Chat Icon

I dvr'd it so I havent watched it yet. I saw an interview with Run and they were aware of the babies medical condition early on in the pregnancy..so they prepared themselves (as much as they could) that she most likely would pass away. They wanted to show everyone that tragedy happens to famous people and to be thankful for what you do have....

So sad..

From what I know, the family knew that something was wrong so in a way they were 'prepared" for it.

They didnt want to abort but let god take it in his hands.
Maybe that is why the handled it well and also the cameras.

Either way, it was sad and a terrible thing to happen and I commend them putting in on tv...Chat Icon

I saw it and I didn't think it was scripted at all. I felt really bad for them....my mom had a stillborn baby over 25 years ago and she still mourns for him until this day. I think they are a family who is very close knit and strong in their faith....that is why they were able to get through this the way they did.

Does anyone know the condition the baby had? They never mentioned it. My heart goes out to them. Chat Icon

It was sooo sad to watch but they are such a strong family and Run and Justine seemed as prepared as you could be in such a tragic event. It was just heartbreaking when the kids walked in the room and herard the news. I just wanted to hug them all Chat Icon

I can't find it, but according to an article in People (I read it last week on People.com) the family didn't want to, for lack of a better word, waste time mouring the loss of their daughter. They wanted to focus on the future and not live in the past and this tragedy.

I have such mixed emotions on how their dealing with this. AFter reading the article it was almost as if they were going about their life like they didn't have this 6th child. I thought it was very sad and a very odd way to go about the loss of a child.

My heart goes out to their family though, no matter how their dealing with it... it's such a tragedy Chat Icon

I didn't watch it yet. I was wondering how they wouldn't know that the babies organs were outside before the birth. I saw them on Oprah and Rev Run said they have been blessed with so many other things that they are not going to let the grief consume them.

as a mom to a stillborn, their reaction inspired me. It made me feel better and I wish them peace continually.

I would have given ANYTHING to be able to find peace at that time and I think their strength and devotion helped them and Im jealous now years later, but I dont think it was that they didnt mourn, they choose how to handle the grief and the situation and it makes them stronger then a lot of us.....
