Did having DC changed your mind on having #2?
Prior to having DC, did you plan on having another child but changed your mind after having DC?

I couldn't wait to have another one, but I did want my kids 3-4 years apart. Julia has been an angel since birth, so if this child is like her, I will be very lucky!

Re: Did having DC changed your mind on having #2?
I originally wanted them closer together, like 1.5-2.5 years apart. Now, I'm happy to wait until she's 3 or so to have another. She is not a difficult baby by any means, I just want more time to be a family of 3.

Re: Did having DC changed your mind on having #2?
at first i did NOT want another because DD was difficult but once we found out she had reflux, i stopped bfing and got her on the right formula and her REAL personality started to show i can not wait to have another.
I would love to have them close together but $$$ will prevent that and I think if i had another i couldnt be able to give DD the attention she needs.

Re: Did having DC changed your mind on having #2?
Having DD made me want to start trying for #2 right away.
BUT~ my sister and I are close in age (13mos apart) so I always wanted mine close togather- I just didn't think I'd WANT to try so early.

Yes, I want to have one sooner. I love being a mom more than I imagined I would.

Re: Did having DC changed your mind on having #2?
I was set on having one child. But having Jared and seeing other children with their siblings made me want another one. I can't complain, he was an amazing sleeper and he ate VERY well. Hopefully when I have the next one, he/she will be just as good.
I guess I had the opposite feelings...

I thought we would start trying when DS turned 2, but now we have decided to wait a couple more years.

Re: Did having DC changed your mind on having #2?
No-we wanted more before DD and still want more. THough I am a little apprehensive of "starting from scratch" and hopefully being pregnant when DD will be running around, it is definitely all worth it to us. We wanted to wait about a year, and will probably stick to that plan, if all things go as planned (which they never do )

Re: Did having DC changed your mind on having #2?
going through such severe MS made me think that if that happens with my next one...it will be the end. Also, when I discovered how much daycare was I realized that I couldnt have 4 or 5 kids like I would have wanted. I think 3 yrs apart is perfect for us. After the second if all goes well...MAYBE ....a 3rd but again 3 yrs apart. But that would be it.

Re: Did having DC changed your mind on having #2?
Yes/No... Prior to DS and even afterwards I knew that I wanted more children but somewhere around 18 months - I changed my mind and was thinking that one was great. It was somewhat affordable, managable and things were starting to settle down.
Then, I became pregnant right around the time I was thinking one was good (see what a night on the town can do). I'm due Feb 14th and looking forward to #2 but nervous. If I weren't pregnant already at this point, I think that I would have closed shop and settled on the one.
But, oddly enough now that #2 is almost here - I'm thinking of have #3 right away but we'll see when #2 is 6 months old.

Re: Did having DC changed your mind on having #2?
it did temporarily ... for the first 6 weeks or so I probably would have told you that we were done. It was so much harder than I ever thought plus I think I suffered from some form of mild PPD. However, as time went on and he began sleeping and doing all the things he does I realized that the reason I felt that way was because somehow in my head I thought he was always going to stay this fragile newborn and never going to be independent. I know that sounds terrible but I just pictured having this little baby stuck to my hip for the rest of my life. Again, i had some issues. But now i see how much of a joy it is having him I am back to my old plan of having more. Maybe just in 3 years instead of 2.

I wanted 2... had Jacob, and now go back and forth with having another.. he has been difficult since birth, and continues to be. By the time I get up the courage to take the leap, Jacob will prob be 7!

Re: Did having DC changed your mind on having #2?
i was 80% sure that DS was going to be it b/c i had such a rough pregnancy (m/s the while 9 months). However now that we have DS here, he is amazing and a great baby and DH and myself are looking forward to having another prob when he is 2 or 3. I would prob do it sooner, but DH wants us to buy a house (we own a condo right now) and we want more room when we have 2 kids.

Re: Did having DC changed your mind on having #2?
I wanted before kids, a lot and quickly.
Yes, it all changed.
My situation is different because I have infertility issues, but if I didnt and were to act like I could get PG when I wanted, I would ( and am planning) to wait till Noah is at least 3 to try again....Where as before he was born, I said we would try again Right away.

I always thought I wanted three..but I'm pretty sure that I'm done at 2. I just cant imagine the sleepless nights again and everything and then having three to handle all day long.

Re: Did having DC changed your mind on having #2?
For me it's whether I want #3. Jayden had health issues when he was born. I was discharged and had to leave the hospital without him. He spent 3 weeks in NICU and was just the hardest thing. He didn't get clean bill of health until he was 3months. I know the odd of this happening again are slim, but right now I'm still on the fence.
My kids are great nappers and have good temperaments but they are HORRIBLE night sleepers.

Re: Did having DC changed your mind on having #2?
We pretty much had decided no to another child before DC. We're not that young, and the risk of birth defects rises significantly at this point. So for that reason, we thought no.
After having DC, as much as I love having a baby, I have to concede that it would be very hard to keep up with a toddler and a newborn at the same time. I just can't see myself being an effective parent. Again, maybe if I was a few years younger, but then we could wait until DC is a little older to have #2. We just don't have that option now.
So in a nutshell, no. I think at some point I will want to have another when he is no longer a baby and I miss that, but I do think it would be very hard.

Re: Did having DC changed your mind on having #2?
I love it more then I thought I would...Leo on the other hand only wants one more and told me not to tell him when we are making #2, just tell him when I am preggo-he says he can't even think about it.
I always wanted 4 babies...but Leo says no way. He feels bad and wants me to be happy, but thinks every baby we add on will chip away at our marriage more.
