Did I miss...
the 1 cent folders at staples? I was away and am hoping I didn't miss it. Anyone know?

I was away the first week of July and I dont think it was then. I have been looking every week and nothing 
I hope they have it soon! I have noticed that they dont have as much cheap stuff as last year

I wasn't away  As far as I know the only penny deals they had were loose leaf papers last week and spiral notebooks this week.
I don't recall anything about folders.

they always give more to teachers than the limit for everyone else, but it's not much more. if you are lucky the cashier will let you slide. but in the past i've had my dh and my mom buy for me too to get the amount i want!

If you show your teacher id (I use my UFT card) they let you have 25!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did this for the loose leaf paper and brought my dad who is also a teacher but didn't need the paper. I ended up getting 50 reams of loose leaf paper!!  All for 50 cents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i got the spiral notebooks for 1 cent each and i got the 2 reems of copy paper for $1 each (after mail in rebate) wish i could have gotten more that that!!! I use so much copy paper

They said the first 100 customers get something special, do you generally have to wait on line before the store opens to get that? And, is it worth it?

I have been doing it for two years. I go to the store in Farmingdale. I never wait on line, but I do get there early. Last year they gave away a bag and a scan disk. I used it for IEPs since it had a small memory and I could only put one IEP on it at a time. It was worth the five minute drive to me. I also know of people who go from store to store stocking up on the freebies.

I am reporting back from my recon mission- :) We got: a bag (Like one of the ones you can use for groceries instead of the store ones, a plastic pencil bin, a writing pad, a package of push pins, a package of paper clips , a dozen yellow pencils, a mechanical pencil and a highlighter.
Overall, eh...but it was free and I had to get some stuff there anyway.
