Did or is anyone having a Gender reveal party....(small one)
I think this is such a cute idea and DH really wants to have a small one no gifts obviously but I am up in the air about it. We will only invite our immediate family and maybe a close friend or two but I dont want anyone to think its cheesy....
Should we just go for it, I mean its not hurting or putting anyone out right

We may have a REALLY small one with just my parents and sister and maybe my best friend and her mom. Only bc my sister is experimenting with baking and wants to do a gender reveal cake. I figured it would be a cute way to tell my parents what we're having. I guess it will more of a "come over for some cake" party than anything.
I think they are a really cute idea, I say go for it!

I went back and forth on this-definitely wanted one but wasn't sure if wanted big or small. I particularly wanted some members of my extended family but not others and I couldn't invite some without the others. I think if I did big party people would have enjoyed it because I have lots of cute fun ideas but at the same time I pictured many members of my family being annoyed and confused initially when invited so I am going to do a gender reveal cake with just my parents, dh's parents and my brother and sister in law. Maybe two of my friends. thats it.

We had our friends over and were on Skype & the phone with our parents. Definitely more fun to join the excitement with everyone!

My 20 week appointment will be a few weeks before my birthday so our plan is to have the tech write it down on a piece of paper and seal it in an envelope. Closer to my birthday, we will bring the paper to our bakery and ask they open it and bake a birthday cake with either pink or blue filling depending on the gender written on the card. This way, my family and I will all find out together when I cut my birthday cake. The hard part is going to be keeping myself from peeking in the envelope!

I did that myself at Passover dinner this year, and it was a lot of fun. I found out the gender right away (no way was I waiting!) but I baked pink cupcakes and spelled out "It's a Girl" across them - it's actually my avatar pic but you can hardly tell - and covered them until dessert time, when we had our 'big reveal.' DH captured the whole thing on video and it's so great to see everyone jumping around, clapping, my dad saying, "I'm gonna have a granddaughter!", stuff like that. Do it!

I had a Gender Reveal Baby Shower (NOT small... lol). I loved it and everyone was excited to find out along with us what we were having!

I plan on doing one. Very small and I'm having one of my friends reveal the gender to the bakery for the cake. This is our second child, but I still think it will be fun.

My 20 week appt. was a few days before our annual 4th of July BBQ with my in-laws so we had a gender reveal cake. It was fun and I think they all got a kick out of it. My MIL wanted to have the cake first because she couldn't wait to find out

I had one! Best thing I ever decided to do! It was meant to be small (i figured I would have had maybe 10 people over for it) but by word of mouth I had over 30 people show up! I kept it simple.. baked cupcakes and iced them blue and pink and made pink and blue cookies and choc covered strawberries. We just had some beer wine and champange. I got just a few decorations in pink and blue and of course the gender cake. We had the sonogram tech write it down and only the bakery knew what we were having. I know Ive posted it a thousand times but Ill post my video again... it was on good morning america a month or so ago!

We just had one for our second! We just invited the grandparents & siblings and it was really nice and exciting. Ordered pizza and had cake!
