Did they get rid of the "tax free" sales week?
DH just mentioned to me that he always remembers a "tax free" week, usually the week before the kids go back to school.
I remember them, too, but maybe not at this time..maybe more in Oct.
Does anyone have any insight?

I don't think there was a tax free week this year. Considering the state of the state, I'd be surprised if there was one this year. NYS doesn't collect sales tax for clothing & shoes under $110. Nassau & Suffolk still collect their sales tax. There is no tax on clothing or shoes under $110 in NYC.

Christine is right. NYS hasn't charged tax in awhile, but as of 10/1 they are reinstating it, so make sure to get out before 9/30!
