Yup! It was a big night when I read my 1st chapter book- Beezus and Ramona by Beverly Cleary- all by myself.
I have loved it my whole life!

Re: Did you always love reading??
Yes I have.
I always loved ordering books when I was in elementary school....you know when they passed out the paper flyer in classs and you could pick out the books you wanted. I always loved being able to buy my own books (well, my mom wrote a check for them, but they were my books!).

Re: Did you always love reading??
I've always loved to read. When I was little I used to resent my parent for making me go outside and play. I'd bring a book everywhere including the movie theater to read before the movie started

Re: Did you always love reading??
Always!
My nephew is in 1st grade and loves to read. The first time he read to me I started to get a little emotional.
Him: Why are you crying? Me: This is a very important step for you. (I'm sure I said other things, but I can't remember) Him: You're wierd.

I always loved reading... I would sneak a flashlight into bed so I could read under the covers when my Mom turned out the lights....

Re: Did you always love reading??
I was a reader when I was a kid then hated it as a young adult and teenager. It wasn't until I graduated that I really became an avid reader.

Re: Did you always love reading??
I did! My fave thing to do would be going to grandmas in LI and read in her yard. This was when I was about 12 years old...and I always loved it
I distinctly remember my parents taking me to the library and loving that I was able to pick books from the "big girl section"
what a dork I am trying to instill the same love in my son...but daddy wants him to watch tv

Re: Did you always love reading??
I remember being obsessed w/ the Babysitters club in elementary school and I've been reading since. I'm now a librarian. If there's a topic I'm mildly interested in I start researching like crazy and read a book on it. Now that I'm finally done w/ my Masters I look forward to reading for leisure again.

Re: Did you always love reading??
Yes - I used to get under the sheets and use a flashlight when I was supposed to be sleeping.
In Jr. high and HS I used to read 3 books a week.

Re: Did you always love reading??
I've been an obsessive reader ever since I can remember (which is probably why I became an English teacher ). I used to read books under my desk in school (until my teacher mentioned it in the comments section of the report card)...

Re: Did you always love reading??
I've always loved reading; I cut my teeth on Judy Blume & Beverly Cleary (Beezus & Ramona). I hated when in high school and college I couldn't read the books I wanted to because I had to devote so much time to the books I had to read - which I am re-reading now for enjoyment!

Re: Did you always love reading??
Oh yes, I was always, always a reader! I remember for my birthdays, my mom would take me to B.Dalton (does that even exist still??? ) and I could pick out whatever books I wanted. I still remember getting Nancy Drew and Encyclopedia Brown.

Re: Did you always love reading??
I've always loved reading...I remember in 2nd grade for the March of Dimes we did a read-off & I read more books than everyone else.
My faves were Judy Blume & Lois Lenski(?) and Nancy Drew.
I too would take my flashlight to read under the covers.

Re: Did you always love reading??
Yes. I started reading on my own when I was 4 but my mom used to read to me from the time she was pregnant with me because of some child rearing book she read.
I LOVE to read anything but I admit my guity pleasures arre funny romance novels and the ocoassional paranormal thriller.
