I didn't, just used newborn and they were perfect! My plan was to wait and see how big they were and have DH pick stuff up if needed.

Re: did you buy premie clothes??

No i didnt and i wouldnt buy any. Newborn clothes fit them perfect and they were in NB for about a month. They were 5 1/2 lbs at birth.

I did get preemie pj gowns as a gift and they didnt fit the girls.. so it was a waste

Re: did you buy premie clothes??

I borrowed some from a friend. My DD was only 4lbs12oz, so she really needed them and DS fit in them, as well. I don't think I would go out and buy a bunch, though...they were only in them for a little bit.
The mothers of multiples group I belong to her in NC has a lending program for preemie clothes...maybe there is something like that on LI? You could also probably find someone on LIF who might have a few things you could use. I only really used sleep and plays and onesies.

Honestly, you probably wont. Even mine, who were born at 2 lb. 3oz. and 3 lb. 10 oz. outgrew the preemie clothes fairly quickly. There were even a couple that they never even wore.

We decided not to. We bought more NB and 0-3. We have a lot of other sizes from my shower. We figured if we need preemie clothes, DH can go out and buy a few things while i am still in the hospital.

Re: did you buy premie clothes??

I did not buy any, but some generous posters on here shared their clothes with me. My babies were born 6 lbs 2 oz and 5 lbs 5 oz, and did wear the preemie clothes for about a month. I have since passed the clothes on to other posters.

Re: did you buy premie clothes??

I actually didn't before they were born and my mom brought some when I was in the hosptial for me since the boys needed them at 6lbs and 5lbs 7oz. The first week home I went out and brought 4-5 outfits as well since NB did not fit at all.

I would wait and see what size your babies are. They won't need them around 7lbs. My boys were in theres for about a month.

I have since passed them on to a friend who had a premature baby.

I bought preemie outfits as their going home outfits and nothing else.
When they were born at 4-11 and 5-12 my mom went out and bought a few things and some people handed stuff down to me. My DD wore them for at least 5-6 weeks and my DS for at least a month. (they came home from the hospital at 4-5ish and 5-5 i think)

Re: did you buy premie clothes??

i did buy some and we did use them for a month.
i thought it was worth it because they were 4lbs and were swimming in NB clothes.
and it was nice to hand them over to others that need them.

Re: did you buy premie clothes??

No, but we did need them. Not because DC were preemie, but because they were tiny full termers at 4lb15oz and 5lb1oz. They were only in them for a couple of weeks, but when they were born the NB clothes were gigantic on them. My mom went out and bought some outfits while I was in the hospital.

Re: did you buy premie clothes??

I'm scheduled for a c-section on 12/23 and have been kindly given some preemie clothes by other LIF moms...I know the babies probably won't need them for long but it is so nice being able to save the money on clothes that they may wear for only a few weeks.

I'm sure my babies will be out of preemie clothes by the time your LO arrive, so just FM near your due date to remind me and I'll give you anything I have!
