Did you deliver by C-section or vaginally?

Did you deliver by C-Section or vaginally?

Also, how far along were you when your doctor told you whether you could try for a vaginal or if you had to do c-section?

Sorry to use the v-word but I didn't want to say "naturally" and make everyone think I was talking about delivering without an epidural! Chat Icon

My doctors are giving me the choice because both babies are heads down. They say that as long as both are head down and if twin A is bigger than twin B I can go vaginally. I think that's the way I'm going to go.

Both vaginally.

I know there are still some docs who like to schedule a c-section for twins as soon as they know it's a multiple pregnancy.

I agree with the PP, if both babies are head down, twin A is bigger and barring no other complications at least try to birth both vaginally.

In my case, twin A was bigger and definitely "paved the way" for twin B. Twin B came out in two pushesChat Icon Chat Icon

And I'm Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon at the v-word... there are so many teachers at my school expecting babies that "vaginally" has been dropped several times in the faculty room. No big deal, 1/2 the world has oneChat Icon

Both vaginally. I was told to try for a vaginal birth because they were both head down. I was induced at 37 weeks, and the dr. said we could wait 1 more week, but I was done. I pushed them out in the ER room, because they never know if the second one will need an emergency C-section.

Both vaginally. I was induced at 38 weeks and I think around 30 weeks they were both head down and the dr. was telling me we should try for a vaginal birth.

Wow, I am shocked at how many deliverd vaginally! I know this is horrible to admit, but I asked to have a c-section. I was too afraid to push any out!

Scheduled c-section. DS was Baby A and he was breech. He was that way at 30w and at that point there was little possiblity he would turn, so I knew it would be a c-sec.

I would have wanted a vaginal birth if they were both vertex.

My doctor is saying the same thing. Except he's saying I only need one head down. He says even if the 2nd baby is breech he can turn the baby or even "pull her out by the legs!" Chat Icon Or, he would let me choose a c-section.

I actually was leaning towards wanting a c-section because I thought it would be safer for the babies but with all these posts about vaginal births, maybe I should try it if I have the opportunity to have baby A be bigger and head down (right now she is).

Your drs, "pull her out by the legs" comment is a little scary. I'd really prefer if both are head down.
I go for my last sono on Thurs so I guess I'll know by then, but I'm pretty sure both are still head down.

I think he was joking about pull out by the legs... Now I'll have to ask him to be sure! But, he did say even if Baby B is breech he can most likely turn her around from the outside after Baby A is delivered.

I do not think he was joking about the "pulling the baby out by the legs" comment as my sister, who has twins was told the same thing by her doctor Chat Icon
