Did you ever take a day "off" to do housework?

Obviously I'm a SAHM, so it's not a day off from "work" per se....

I find with all the running around (dropping off, picking up, store, etc) it's so hard to get housework and little projects done with all the interruptions all day. I have ldirty laundry up to my eyeballs in this house!!

So, I decided to keep DD home from preK today, stay in PJs, and do all the housework I haven't been able to catch up on.

I told my mom I was doing this today and she told me I was a lunatic. So, has anyone else "dropped out" for the day so they can catch up?

I wish. That's what I need. I told DH he has to take the kids to my parents one day just so I can rip my house apart and clean it Chat Icon

I have scheduled days where I knew at least one would be to clean and catch up.

Today DS didn't get clearance for surgery tomorrow so it will turn into a clean the house kind of day.

Yep. It is sad to say that if I didn't, things wouldn't get done. Being a FTWM there are just not enough hours in the day and the weekends have other plans.

I need to do that. I actually like when we have company over, bc it makes me do certain cleaning that i dont do on a daily (like dusting )

I have in the past! I've scheduled a day off to do all the cleaning and errands etc. that have piled up. I'd LOVE to do that again soon actually, especially with the holidays around the corner and the weekends SO full of things that have to get done.

I have done this many times - before I had a child Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Now as a SAHM my requests for a day off to do the same just fall on deaf ears. My HR dept. sucks. Chat Icon
